About Us
History of Rosentreter Excavating, lnc: Back in the day Rosentreter Excavating, Inc. was known as Rosentreter Brothers Excavating. Neil and AI Rosentreter (brothers) decided to open and run an excavating business in Chelsea, Michigan in June of 1976. The brothers started as a small excavating company with one bulldozer, one excavator, and a five-yard dump truck. They took on mainly residential projects and enjoyed working for homeowners around Chelsea as the area began to grow and expand. A few years later the brothers parted ways as Neil (shown in picture to left)and his wife Dolores took full ownership.
In 1999, upon the death of Neil, his son, Steve Rosentreter took over the duties of owner. Steve worked for his father since he was a young boy who would help his dad out on the weekends. It wasn't long after Steve took charge that he decided to expand Rosentreter Excavating horizons and started taking on Commercial jobs. He traveled Michigan performing the excavation for several Auto Zones, Wal-Marts and Home Depots. Steve enjoys the challenge and accomplishment upon completion of these large projects.
Today Rosentreter Excavating, Inc. is equipped to handle any size job. Although Steve thoroughly enjoys the large commercial projects, he also treasures the relationships he builds locally for homeowners and builders in the area. Steve is busy in the field bidding and executing the work as it comes in, while his wife, Erin, stays busy in the office working as Office Manager. They take pride in their family-owned business and hope to pass it on to one of their five children one day. Son, Patrick Rosentreter, is a current employee for Steve, and the business is now a third family generation of Rosentreter excavators!
